I-81 Viaduct–Phase 1, Contract 1: RFP Design Phase, NYSDOT

The Design-Build first contract scope includes reconstructing the northern interchange of I-81 and I-481 into Business Loop 81 and I-81, as well as expanding portions of former I-481 from two to three lanes. MAKS worked as a Civil and Structural Sub-consultant to the design-build team led by Lane Construction and Jacobs Engineering. MAKS Developed Preliminary drawings of the Superstructure and Substructure for the South Bay Road Bridge. MAKS also worked on estimating the rebar and concrete quantities for foundations of all sign structures and ground-mounted structures based on span lengths and sign panel dimensions. MAKS Coordinated and assisted the roadway and bridge design teams to assist in designing and developing preliminary site and roadway plans.
