Bridge Preventive Maintenance Contract - NJDOT 2016-2B NJDOT

(July 2017- December 2017)

The project consisted of construction repairs and preventive maintenance of fifty (50) Bridges on Route I-287 in Middlesex and Somerset Counties. MAKS provided construction inspection services for this bridge repairs project as a sub-consultant to Tectonics Engineering.

Repair items and their inspection included but not limited to the deck concrete repairs, application of corrosion inhibitor, deck and header joint replacement and repairs, Parapet wall repairs, sidewalk and curb repairs, Structural steel repairs like adding steel plates to flanges and webs at corroded locations, bridge seat repairs, bearing repairs and replacement, lifting the superstructure for bearing repair and replacement, lubrication of bearings and the application of an epoxy waterproofing on the bridge superstructure including diaphragms. Abutment and piers spall and deterioration repairs, traffic line re-striping, installation/re-installation of flexible delineators. Set up the maintenance and protection of traffic that also included the shifting of traffic lanes to protect the work area.
