MAKS Engineers provided construction inspection services for this Route 9, Green Street Interchange improvement project for the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The project intended to increase safety and to direct vehicles seeking to continue along Green Street to use the Queen Road ramp to Route 9 Southbound. Deceleration lanes from Route 9 Southbound and Northbound to Green Street Eastbound were constructed.
Modifications were made to the Green Street ramp entrance on Route 9 Southbound. The traffic signals at the Queen Road and Green Street intersection were replaced. Milling and resurfacing were performed on Route 9 from south of Oakwood Avenue to Route 1 and Green Street from the Queen Road / Quality Way Intersection to south of Oakwood Avenue. An ITS-type warning system along Route 9 Northbound was installed. Improvements were made to the drainage system and the construction of a new detention basin in the median of Route 9. Route 9 Southbound bridge deck was replaced over Green Street with a prefabricated deck.
